WACO, Texas - Baylor competitive cheer head coach Karry Forsythe announced the signings of eight additional student-athletes for the 2011-12 academic year on Wednesday. The Bears' newest signees join 11 student-athletes who signed in the fall to give competitive cheer a 19-member class entering its second season.
"I am very pleased with our recruiting class this year," Forsythe said. "We have so much talent coming back next season and new talent coming to Baylor. It's going to be a great second season for us and we cannot wait to get started."
The eight members of the spring signing class are: Stephanie Bohmler (Seguin, Texas), Danielle Hardman (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.), Lindsey Lau (Spring, Texas), Madison Leffler (Lakeside, Calif.), Joy Lord (Carrollton, Texas), Taylor Simmons (Magnolia, Texas), Sara Talley (Jacksonville, Ariz.) and Keonia White (Little Rock, Ark.).
The Bears wrapped up their inaugural season by taking a national championship in the Five-Element Stunt Event on April 9. Baylor's 2010-11 squad consisted of 28 students-athletes, 24 of which were freshmen.
