Final Big 12 Championship Results in PDF Format 
HUTCHINSON, Kan. - Baylor men's golf battled windy conditions Wednesday and concluded the Big 12 Championship with a seventh-place finish at Prairie Dunes Country Club. The Bears carded the fourth-lowest final-round score (297) to finish with a four-day total of 63-over (296-299-291-297=1183).
Oklahoma State claimed the Big 12 title, finishing at 19-over (283-292-270-294=1139). Texas A&M came in second at 32-over, followed by third-place Texas and fourth-place Texas Tech. Host Missouri finished fifth at 53-over. Oklahoma State's Morgan Hoffmann won the individual title, shooting even-par 280 for the tournament.
"Wednesday was probably toughest day we've had all year," head coach Greg Priest said. "We knew it was going to be tough and the guys battled all day.
"As the scores indicate, everyone shot high during the final round," Priest said. "Even with the windy conditions, we were fortunately able to move up."
Baylor junior Joakim Mikkelsen and sophomore Jerry Ruiz tied for 22nd overall at 16-over-par. Ryan O'Rear sat a 1-over after 12 holes, but three bogeys in a five-hole span pushed him to 74; the Salado, Texas, native finished the Big 12 Championship tied for 31st at 20-over (76-73-77-74=300).
Cody Paladino shot a final-round 82 to tie for 39th at 23-over (71-76-74-82=303). Payne Gniewek recorded Baylor's low final round with a 72, tying for 44th at 26-over (78-81-75-72=306).
"I'm disappointed in where we finished, but it's just one tournament," Priest said. "We need to move on and starting preparing for the postseason."
The NCAA Division I Men's Golf selection announcement will be made in May. The 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship will begin May 19-21 at six regional host sites. Baylor has made 13 consecutive NCAA Regional appearances and advanced to the NCAA Championship in 2010.
