Baylor's 16th-ranked baseball team takes on No. 4 TCU in the Bears' first midweek game of the 2011 season at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Baylor Ballpark.

The Bears remained No. 16 in the rankings after taking two of three games from Oral Roberts over the weekend. Baylor dropped the season opener to ORU, but Brooks Pinckard hit a game-winning home run in the seventh inning of Saturday's game, and the Bears rallied from two runs down in the bottom of the seventh to win the series with Jake Miller's 10th-inning walk-off single on Sunday.

Baylor and TCU have played 243 times, making it the third-most played series in Baylor history behind only Texas and Texas A&M. The Bears hold a 136-107 edge in the all-time series, including a 70-41 mark in games played in Waco. Baylor is 17-19 against TCU during the Steve Smith era. The Bears and Horned Frogs played three times in 2010, with the home team winning all three games. TCU knocked off Baylor 5-4 in 10 innings on April 27, but the Bears beat TCU 14-4 in an eight-inning run-rule game the following day. TCU beat Baylor 9-0 on June 6 in the championship round of the NCAA Fort Worth Regional.

Baylor is 144-110 against teams currently playing as members of the Mountain €ˆWest Conference. The Bears have played Air Force (2-0), BYU (1-1), San Diego State (5-2) and TCU (136-107).
