The Baylor hunter seat team earned victories over SMU (5-2) and Sacred Heart (8-0) Saturday afternoon at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco.
The Bears began with a dominating performance against SMU. Baylor swept equitation on the flat 3-0. Lisa Goldman's score of 74 was enough to earn her MVP honors. Kara Fergusson (68) and Taylor Brown (69) also notched points for the Bears.
Baylor clinched their victory over the Mustangs with a 2-2 tie in fences. Taylor Brown (84) and Kendra Vicary (77) both scored points and carried the team to a 5-2 win over SMU.
The afternoon brought a strong performance from Baylor, defeating Sacred Hear 8-0. The Bears began the competition in strong fashion, winning flat 4-0. Kara Fergusson (63), Taylor Brown (54) and Kim Woodsum (68) each earned points for Baylor and Kendra Vicary earned MVP honors with her score of 62.
Baylor swept the final competition of the day, winning fences against Sacred Heart 4-0. Taylor Brown's score of 87 earned her MVP honors. Lisa Goldman (86), Ashley Ann McGehee (73) and Kara Fergusson (74) also scored for the Bears and resulted in an 8-0 victory over Sacred Heart.
The Bears will next be in action at the Fresno State Tournament on Feb. 26-28.
