AUSTIN, Texas - Jordan Weymouth's RBI single in the 14th gave No. 2 Texas its second consecutive extra-inning win, 2-1, over Baylor in a game that ran into Sunday morning at Disch-Falk Field.

Baylor (25-19, 7-11 Big 12) dropped the series opener, 4-2, in 10 innings on Friday night at Baylor Ballpark. Texas (37-7, 18-2 Big 12) tied the Big 12 conference record for the longest winning streak in league play with its 16th consecutive Big 12 win.

Paul Montalbano led off the bottom of the 14th with a double to the gap in left-center field, and after an intentional walk to Kevin Lusson, Weymouth failed at two consecutive bunt attempts before punching the game-winning down the left-field line.

"I don't know if I've seen two teams pitch it collectively (that well)" head coach Steve Smith said. "When's the last time you've seen a 1-1 game in extra innings? That's very rare. I thought the two starters were tremendous. It's maybe the best I've seen Shawn (Tolleson). It's really good to see that back to back."

The Longhorns took an early lead when Kevin Keyes singled with two outs in the second and scored all the way from first on a hit-and-run double to right field off the bat of Lusson.

Keyes' run was nearly enough for UT starter Cole Green, who held the Bears scoreless on four hits through the first eight innings.

The Bears threatened to tie the game in the sixth when Landis Ware reached on an error and Raynor Campbell doubled off the wall in right field, but Texas threw out Ware trying to score from first base for the final out in the inning.

Baylor finally broke through to tie the game in the ninth. Logan Vick led off with an infield single, advanced to second when Brandon Loy's throw sailed out of play, and moved up third on a passed ball. Joey Hainsfurther's one-out single through the right side scored Vick, tying the game at 1-1 and ending Green's night.

Green did not factor in the decision after allowing an unearned run on six hits with five strikeouts and one walk in 8.1 innings.

Even though they were held scoreless until the ninth, the Bears were still in the game after Shawn Tolleson turned in his best start of the year. He allowed just one run on six hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts in 8.0 innings, but like Green, he didn't factor in the decision.

Willie Kempf got the first two outs in the bottom half of the ninth before turning the ball over to Josh Turley with the bases loaded. Turley came up big, striking out Lusson to send the game to extra innings.

Chance Ruffin worked 1.2 innings of one-hit relief for Texas, and Hoby Milner (2-0) got the win by retiring all 12 batters he faced of the final 4.0 innings.

Turley handed the ball to Brooks Pinckard (1-3) with one out and two on in the 10th, and Pinckard got some help from his defense when Cal Towey made a running catch to rob what likely would've been a game-winner to the gap in right-center off the bat of Loy. Pinckard then got a strikeout to extend the game, but he ended up taking the loss after allowing one run on three hits with four strikeouts and two walks in 3.2 innings of relief.

Vick and Campbell both finished 2-for-6 for Baylor, and Cohl Walla was the only Longhorn with a multi-hit game with a 2-for-5 effort.

The Bears try to avoid the series sweep when they meet the Longhorns for the series finale at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in a game that will be televised nationally on Fox College Sports Central.
