Two weeks after falling to No. 4 Oklahoma State (2-1) 12-6, No. 7 Baylor (4-2) bounced back for a 9-8 win at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
The Bears picked up a 7-2 win in Hunter Seat, but dropped Western, 6-2.
Baylor opened by sweeping fences, 5-0, as Ashley McGehee's 79 earned MVP honors for BU. Lisa Goldman (80), Kara Fergusson (78), Taylor Brown (77) and Kendra Vicary (76) all provided wins for the early lead.
The Bears and Cowgirls tied in flat, 2-2, with Goldman picking up her second win with an 80, while Kim Woodsum's 78 earned the second point.
With a 7-2 lead, Baylor was able to pick up just enough points in Western to get the team win. Chelsea Retmier got a 74.5 in horsemanship and Olivia Rogers' 70 registered the other point in reining.
Baylor will next face No. 1 Georgia on Friday, Nov. 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
