Equestrian Loses Tiebreak To KSU

MANHATTAN, Kan. - In what turned out to be a tight competition, Baylor (3-1) fell to Kansas State (3-2) in points (1366.5-1359) after a 10-10 tie. It marked the fourth time in the history of the series that the outcome was decided by tiebreak.

Baylor began with a 5-0 sweep in fences, as Kendra Vicary took home MVP honors with a 78, while Lisa Goldman scored the day's highest point total with an 80. Kara Fergusson (77), Ashley Ann McGehee (74) and Taylor Brown (68) also earned wins for the Bears.

BU wrapped up the hunter seat victory, 7-3, registering a pair of points in flat. Brown's 78 earned her a second win on the day, while Margaret Beaudoin's 69 scored the other point.

The Wildcats closed the gap in horsemanship with a 3-1 win. Baylor's lone point came from an MVP performance by Chelsea Retmier.

Holding on to an 8-5 lead, K-State picked up a 4-1 win in reining to tie the score at 10. Katie Buss picked up the Bears' third MVP of the day with a 72.5

Baylor will return to action on Saturday at Oklahoma State beginning at 10:00 a.m.
