STILLWATER, Okla. — Seventh-ranked Baylor baseball’s series finale Sunday at Oklahoma State was cancelled as playing conditions were deemed unplayable by the umpires. More than an inch of rain fell in Stillwater overnight, and standing water was prevalent in the outfield.
The teams split the series one game each. This is the third time since 2002 that Baylor and Oklahoma State have seen their series reduced to two games; all three times, the series was split. This is the first time a Baylor conference game has been cancelled since 2004 when the Bears series finale against Oklahoma State in Waco was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Baylor returns to action Tuesday, traveling to Huntsville, Texas, for a 6:30 p.m. CDT first pitch at Sam Houston State. This is a makeup game from the Bears’ March 24 game at Sam Houston State that was postponed due to rain. Baylor originally scheduled April 21 game at home against Texas State has been moved to Wednesday; first pitch still is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
