WACO, Texas (AP) - Jessica Morrow didn't let a bad shooting night stop her from taking the big shots for No. 5 Baylor.
Morrow scored 23 points, including the final 12 for the Bears, in a 64-60 victory against No. 10 Texas A&M on Saturday night.
She was 0-for-5 on 3-pointers when she made one with 3:14 remaining to give the Bears at 55-53 lead. From there, she hit another 3 and a jumper in the lane before making four free throws in the final 16.4 seconds.
"I definitely don't get rattled when I miss shots," Morrow said.
Baylor coach Kim Mulkey arrived from Austin about 15 minutes before the game after watching her daughter win the Texas Class 4A state championship with Hewitt Midway. She had plenty of time to draw up the double screens that freed Morrow for the key 3-pointers.
"Jess got her feet set and got a good look and dang if we didn't do it again," Mulkey said. "It just worked. When those things work, you look good as a coach."
Jhasmin Player scored 13, Kelli Griffin had 11 and Rachel Allison added 10 points and 17 rebounds for Baylor (25-4, 12-4 Big 12).
Danielle Gant scored 16 and Tanisha Smith had 14 for the Aggies.
Texas A&M (23-6, 11-5) was within 60-58 when Baylor's Morghan Medlock blocked a shot by Takia Sparks and Allison grabbed the rebound. Morrow was then fouled and made both free throws.
Gant pulled A&M to within two again on a baseline jumper with 9.9 seconds left. After an Aggies timeout, Morrow was fouled with 8.2 seconds left and made two more free throws.
"Yea for the Midway team and yea for the Baylor Lady Bears," Mulkey said. "I'm worn out. It's just emotional."
Leading 24-22 in the first half, Baylor went on an 8-0 run that included 3-pointers from Griffin and Player and a pair of free throws by Player. The Bears led 34-24 at halftime.
Baylor pushed its lead to 39-27 early in the second half when Player hit a 3-pointer as the shot clock was running out.
Texas A&M answered with a 19-6 run that included three baskets after offensive rebounds. Smith scored seven during the run as the Aggies took a 46-45 lead with 9:58 left. It was A&M's first lead since the 13-minute mark of the first half.
"Their kids played their hearts out. So the story's about Baylor tonight," Texas A&M coach Gary Blair said. "It's not necessarily about what we didn't do. We fought to get back in the game in front of a great crowd."
