FERRELL CENTER - WACO, TEXAS

Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey Opening Statement:
"I watched and witnessed three seniors that were pretty low after the Kansas game, they were challenged by their head coach and they left everything that they had on that floor tonight. I thought what an appropriate way for them to go out was to take the microphone and talk a little bit (to the crowd). They didn't say a whole lot but what they said I hope the fans heard. Those young ladies left everything that they had out on the floor tonight."
On rebounding after the Kansas loss:
"Yes, but you have still have some doubt in your mind because the performance at Kansas was so uncharacteristic of us. As I thought back to the Kansas game, Kansas is playing pretty dang good. Kansas would have beaten a lot of people that night. We regrouped and came back in this gym and we worked as we always do on defense and intensity and to get that fire back into your belly and quit feeling sorry for yourself because Danielle (Wilson) is gone. It starts with the kid that have been in your program the longest and that's your seniors."
On the play of Medlock and Fields:
"Morghan (Medlock) gave us some valuable minutes and how about Ashley Field. She gets to the foul line and gets some offensive rebounds. She battles in there for a true freshman. It spread but it started with the senior's intensity, their experience and their will to win, it spread to their teammates."
Baylor Senior Guard Jhasmin Player On the game:
"It was extremely exciting but one thing that you have to know is that A&M is a great team and they played a great game. We left everything we had out there on there floor. My stay here has been great. The teammates, the coaching staff and the fans have made it all worth while."
Baylor Senior Post Rachel Allison On winning the importance of winning on Senior Night:
"Words cannot even describe. It was the perfect way to end a great four years here. I am glad that I had (Jhasmin Player and Jessica Morrow) by my side."
Baylor Senior Guard Jessica Morrow On winning the importance of winning on Senior Night: "Last year we were disappointed that we lost to Oklahoma State and the year before we lost to Texas A&M for the (Big 12) championship. As competitors you remember those things. It is always a competition and you want to finish strong with a win."
Texas A&M Head Coach Gary Blair Opening Statement:
"Their seniors were magnificent. When you start looking at Allison's 17 boards and 10 points, she played tremendous and with great heart and she was doing a good job on (Danielle) Gant, not blocking shots but just bodying her up and making her foul. (Jhasmin) Player is just what the name says; she is just a basketball player. Competing is the greatest thing that she does. She just competes so hard and everything that she does is almost excellent. We use the word great too much as coaches, she is just a basketball player that does the little things. (Jessica) Morrow was 0-for-5 before she hits two wide-open 3-point baskets. These games are going to come down like this all the time, I just wish that we could have been in the same bracket as Baylor."
On the Baylor offense:
"Our transition defense was bad. We pressed them one time and they ran right by (Sydney) Colson. They were doing a good job of sharing the ball, they had 13 assists and they were just knocking down open shots. The thing that I am disappointed with ion defense is that we have some of our players that refuse to contest shots. Baylor contested every shot."
On Baylor bouncing back after the loss to Kansas:
"Their kids played their hearts out tonight. The story is about Baylor tonight, not necessarily what we didn't do. We fought to get back into the game in front of a great crowd. Did I think we had the better team, yes. Did we play better, no. That is what Baylor and A&M is all about; somebody is going to play better and they absolutely out-played us and out-coached us in this ballgame."
Texas A&M Post Danielle Gant On the game:
"It is their senior night and we knew that we were not going to come in here and just win the game. We knew it was going to come down to the end. We knew it was going to be a battle on the offensive and defensive end for both teams. We came here thinking that we were going to play a great game against a great team."
On Rachel Allison:
"She wasn't looking to score. I think she was looking to make more of the hustle plays and get more of the rebounds on the offensive and the defensive end."
