WACO, Texas - Baylor's ninth-ranked baseball team returns to action Wednesday, traveling to San Marcos, Texas, for a midweek game at Texas State. First pitch between the Bears and Bobcats is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CDT at Bobcat Stadium on the Texas State campus.
Wednesday's game will be the 56th meeting between Baylor and Texas State. The Bears hold a 41-14 advantage in the all-time series, which dates back to the 1919 season. Baylor is 9-3 all-time at San Marcos after a 25-13 victory at Bobcat Field last season. The Bears have won each of their last three games at Texas State since a 12-0 loss in 2005. Sophomore right-hander Jon Ringenberg (0-0, 6.75 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Bears. This will be Ringenberg's second start of the season; he also started Baylor's March 8 game against UAB. Texas State counters with right-hander Matt Steiner (0-0, 0.00 ERA); he has appeared in only one game this season, working two-thirds of an inning in relief.
