WOMEN'S TENNIS SET FOR ITA NATIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
The fourth-ranked Baylor women's tennis team will travel to Madison, Wis. for the 2009 ITA National Indoor Championships beginning Friday morning at the A.C. Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the campus of the University of Wisconsin. The 16-team field includes 15 regional site winners and the host Wisconsin team. Baylor advanced to the ITA National Indoor Championships with wins over No. 62 Princeton and No. 61 Virginia Tech. LAST YEAR AT THE ITA NATIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
Last year Baylor dropped a 4-2 decision to then-top-ranked Stanford in the first round of the ITA National Indoor Championships. No. 15 Zuzana Zemenova and No. 18 Lenka Broosova earned Baylor's points in singles victories. In the consolation bracket, Baylor defeated Notre Dame 5-1, with singles victories on courts one, two, four, five and six. The Lady Bears finished the weekend with a 7-0 shutout of the host Badgers as Baylor won all six singles matches in straight sets.

LAST TIME OUT
The fourth-ranked Baylor women's tennis team defeated No. 61 Virginia Tech in the second round of action at the ITA National Indoor Qualifier. Baylor opened the action with strong doubles play. Taylor Ormond and Jelena Stanivuk were the first pair off with an 8-6 win on court two over Inga Beermann and Martha Blakely. Third-ranked Lenka Broosova and Csilla Borsanyi followed suit with an 8-6 win on court one over Holly Johnson and Jessica Brouwer. Like the first round action on Saturday, Nina Secerbegovic was first to finish her singles match, taking down Johnson, 6-1, 6-0, on court five. Broosova won her 21st-straight singles dual match with a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Brouwer. Virginia Tech got on the board as Yasmin Hamza defeated Karolina Filipiak, 6-3, 6-3, on court four. Baylor sealed the win with a straight sets victory on court one as No. 19 Ormond defeated No. 125 Beerman, 6-2, 6-4. No. 65 Stanivuk defeated Blakely, 6-3, 7-5, on court three before Kasia Siwosz fell to Courtney Rauscher in a third-set supertiebreaker, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
