The 65th-ranked Baylor men's golf team seeks its second conference title as it competes in the 2008 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship Friday through Sunday, April 25-27, at the 7,249-yard, par-72 Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas.

Single rounds will be played on each day, with tee times and pairings on the second and third days determined by standings. The Bears, seeded fifth of the 12 teams, will start from the 10th tee at 8:00 a.m. in the first round. Second round tee times are at 9 a.m. and 9:50 a.m., while final round tee times on Sunday are set for 8 a.m. and 8:50 a.m.

The Bears won the 2001 championship and Worth Williams claimed the individual victory at the tournament marking Baylor's lone conference title. Last year, Baylor finished eighth after a seventh-place showing in 2006.

Oklahoma State is the defending champion after claiming a seven-shot victory over Texas A&M. Oklahoma won in 2006, while Oklahoma State took the team competition in 2005. Texas won three straight Big 12 titles after Baylor's victory in 2001. The Cowboys have won five titles overall, Texas has three and Baylor, Kansas, and Oklahoma have one each.

Wes Williams, the 13th-rated player in the Big 12, leads Baylor with a 73.04 stroke average. Williams has earned five top-ten finishes, with a season-high finish at the SFA Bill Hill-Crown Classic when he tied for third. Jeremy Alcorn has recorded four top-ten finishes, with his high finish of the season of third at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate. Jeremy Frye leads the Bears with nine tournament appearances this season.

Following the Big 12 Championships, the team will await the announcement of the NCAA Regional fields. Baylor has been selected to 10-straight NCAA Regional Tournaments. The NCAA Regionals will be held May 15-17 in Chattanooga, Tenn., Columbus, Ohio and Bremerton, Wash. The NCAA Championships will be held at The Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind. on May 28-31.
