WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's golf team returns to action starting Friday morning at the Border Olympics at the Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas. The Bears have finished each of their seven tournaments this year in the top 10.
The Bears are coming off a sixth-place finish two weeks ago at the All-American Classic. Baylor also won the Rice Intercollegiate in February in its first tournament action of the spring.
Along with Houston, the tournament host, Arkansas, Baylor, Lamar, UL-Lafayette, New Mexico State, North Texas, Rice, USC Aiken, Texas State, UT-Arlington, UTEP, Washington St. and Wyoming will all compete in the two-day tournament.
Colton Williams, Wes Williams, Cody Paladino, Jeff Gerlich and Jeff Campbell will be Baylor's competing team, while Bill Allcorn and Michael McKinley will participate as individuals.
The 18-hole "Laredo" course at the Laredo Country Club facility in Laredo, Texas features 7,125 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 74.6 and it has a slope rating of 133. Designed by Joseph S. Finger, the Laredo golf course opened in 1983.
