WACO, Texas - The fourth-ranked Baylor equestrian team enters the weekend competition 4-1 as they take on No. 2 Georgia on Friday and Texas A&M Saturday.
Georgia and Texas A&M are currently in a two-way-tie for second place in the Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian National Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs are 5-1, coming off of two consecutive wins against Southern Methodist (8-4) and No. 9 South Carolina (13-7). The Aggies have remained undefeated with their most recent wins over No. 5 Oklahoma State (14-11) and No. 6 Texas Christian (12-8).
For the matches against Georgia and Texas A&M, Nicole Brown, Kara Fergusson, Kendra Vicary, Lisa Goldman and Anna Banks will compete in Equitation over Fences. In Equitation on the Flat, Shelby White, Cara Wilson, Margaret Beaudoin, Heather Healy and Mary Smitson will ride. Horsemanship riders will be Allison Orosz, Lindsey Tomko, Lindsay Douglas, Meghan Murphy and Nicole McCoy.
Reining riders against Georgia will be Madelyn Mooney, Amber Mooney, Katie Buss, Kim Marlowe and Valtie Riddle, while M. Mooney, Michelle Reynolds, Riddle, Buss and Marlowe will compete against Texas A&M.
The match against Georgia will be held on Friday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. followed by the match against Texas A&M on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. Both events will be held at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
