ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Baylor men's golf team shot 298 in the final round to finish in ninth place at the William H. Tucker Invitational at the New Mexico Championship Course on Saturday.

Baylor, who entered the final round sitting alone in ninth, shot 10-over par over the final 18 holes to hold off Tulsa, who finished two shots back at 29-over par.

Pepperdine won the team championship, shooting even par through three rounds. San Diego State finished second at 4-over par. Pepperdine's Jesse Barnsley took the individual title by eight strokes, finishing at 12-under par.

Colton Williams (Jacksboro, Texas) was the top finisher for Baylor at 4-over par to tie for 15th overall. After shooting three-under in the second round, Williams carded a 2-over par 74 in the final round.

Bill Allcorn (Abilene, Texas) finished in a tie for 30th overall at 7-over par. His even-par round of 72 was the lowest by a Baylor player in the third round as he moved up 24 spots in the final 18 holes.

Cody Paladino (Kennington, Conn.) shot 78 on Saturday to finish at 11-over par in a tie for 48th place overall. Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.) who won last week at the Saint Mary's Invitational, shot 76 on Saturday to finish at 12-over par in a tie for 54th. Jeff Gerlich (Austin, Texas) carded a 4-over par 76 to finish at 13-over par and a tie for 60th place overall.

Baylor returns to action on September 30 at the Notre Dame Gridiron Golf Classic.
