WACO, Texas - The No. 4 ranked Baylor men's tennis team will travel to Lubbock to face conference rival, No. 40 Texas Tech Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center. The match will mark the Bears' third conference match of the season and second straight road match.
The Bears have defeated the Red Raiders in 12 consecutive matches, but Texas Tech owns the series 17-25. Baylor is currently 18-3 overall this season and 2-0 in conference play, while Texas Tech holds a 13-6 overall record and are 1-2 in the Big 12.
In individual rankings, Baylor outweighs the competition with four players receiving honors in the latest Fila/ITA collegiate rankings. Lars Poerschke leads the Bears tied at No. 13, while No. 16 Michal Kokta, No. 93 Dominik Mueller and No. 124 Matija Zgaga also earned honors. In doubles, with an 8-2 overall record, Zgaga and David Galic rank at the No. 18 spot. No. 39 Bojan Szumanski is the only singles player ranked for the Red Raiders while Christian Rojmar and Szumanski earned honors in doubles ranked No. 51.
