WACO, Texas - The No. 5 ranked Baylor men's tennis team will host two teams this weekend at the Baylor Tennis Center. The Bears open the weekend against second ranked Virginia on Saturday and conclude the weekend when they take on No. 41 Georgia Tech Sunday. Both matches are slated for 6 p.m. central time.

The Bears 11-2 on the season own a 2-1 series mark against Virginia. The teams have matched up once every year beginning with the 2005 season. Baylor and Georgia Tech have faced each other once in 1990 with the Yellow Jackets leading the series 0-1.

"Hosting the number 2 team in the nation in Waco makes for a special night of college tennis," said head coach Matt Knoll. "We know Virginia is a highly talented, well coached, and experienced team. We have our hands full this Saturday."

In individual rankings, Baylor outweighs the competition with four players ranked in singles including No. 11 Michal Kokta, No. 31 Lars Poerschke, No. 87 Dominik Mueller and No. 101 Matija Zgaga. In doubles, David Galic and Poerschke are ranked at the No. 58 spot.

Among the competition, Virginia holds three singles rankings including No. 2 Somdev Devvarman, No. 15 Treat Huey and No. 80 Dominic Inglot. In doubles, the Cavaliers claim the No. 3 spot with Huey and Devvarman and the No. 40 spot with the team of Inglot and Houston Barrick. Georgia Tech holds one top singles ranking with David North at the No. 40 spot while George Gvelesiani and North claim the No. 45 doubles spot.

After the two weekend matches, the Bears will travel to Nebraska to compete in their first conference game against Nebraska on Friday, March 23.
