DALLAS - Baylor men's tennis, ranked No. 4, blanked 29th-ranked SMU, 7-0, on Wednesday at the Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas. It was Baylor's 10th straight win over the Mustangs.
The Bears swept all three doubles matches and all six singles matches to take the victory. David Galic and Matija Zgaga downed Alex Skrypko and Federico Murgier 8-3 while the tandems of Denes Lukacs/Lars Poerschke and 50th-ranked Michal Kokta/Dominik Mueller (BU) each posted 8-5wins.
In singles, Michal Kokta, Matija Zgaga, Dominik Mueller and Denes Lukacs each won in straight sets while Lars Poerschke and Matt Brown both needed three sets to claim victory.
The loss drops SMU to 4-4 on the season while Baylor raised its record to 9-2. The Bears will host Virginia Commonwealth on Friday at 6 p.m. and TCU on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches will be contested at the Baylor Tennis Center.
