WACO, Texas - The No. 5 Baylor men's tennis team will travel to Dallas to take on No. 39 SMU at the Bent Tree Country Club Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. (central time).

The Bears enter Wednesday's contest 8-2 overall this season, while the Mustangs are 4-3. Baylor has secured nine consecutive wins over SMU since 2002, but SMU leads the series 28-12.

"SMU has a long tradition of great tennis. The rivalry between the two schools has produced some exciting matches over the years particularly at their place. We know Coach Neufeld will put a competitive team on the court against us Wednesday," said head coach Matt Knoll.

In individual rankings, Baylor outweighs the competition with four players ranked in the top 100 in singles including No. 25 Michal Kokta, No. 28 Lars Poerschke, No. 91 Dominik Mueller and No. 100 Matija Zgaga. In doubles, Kokta and Mueller rank at the No. 50 spot. Alex Skrypko is the only player ranked for SMU, taking the No. 43 spot.

The Bears are back in action on Friday, March 2 when they host Virginia Commonwealth at 6 p.m.

Final match results will be posted at www.baylorbears.com at the conclusion of the competition.
