Men's Golf Ends Fall Season in Hawai'i

WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's golf team is set for its final fall season tournament as the Bears travel to Kahuku, Hawai'i for the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational. Through four tournaments this season, Baylor has recorded four top-10 and three top-five finishes, including a tournament title at the Saint Mary's College Invitational.

Participating in the three-day tournament are Baylor, Boise State, Charleston, Fresno State, Hartford, Hawai'i, Idaho, New Mexico State, Osaka Gakuin, Pepperdine, San Diego, St. Mary's, Tennessee, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UNC Wilmington, UNLV, USF, UT Arlington, Weber State and Wyoming. Turtle Bay Resort features two championship golf courses that are among the finest in all of Hawai`i. The Arnold Palmer and George Fazio Courses have achieved legendary status as select locations for prestigious PGA and LPGA tournaments. The PGA Champion's Tour, Turtle Bay Championship, will take place on the Arnold Palmer Course through 2008. The Fazio Course is the only golf course is Hawai'i designed by George Fazio.

The natural topography of the resort's 880 acres creates a breathtaking variety of vistas for each course. From fairways in dense ironwood forests to greens on the edge of the ocean, golf achieves its purest expression at Turtle Bay Resort. Peer out at 36 holes that wind through the resort, and down to the Pacific, offering views that will take your breath away. Baylor will be led by senior Wes Williams, who claimed individual medalist honors at the Saint Mary's College Intercollegiate. Colton Williams leads the Bears in stroke average during the fall season at 73.42 through 12 rounds.

Cody Paladino is the only other Baylor player with a stroke average under 74 as he is second on the team at 73.75 strokes in 12 rounds. Bill Allcorn earned a top-20 finish at the Saint Mary's College Invitational, while Jeff Gerlich has earned top-25 finishes in the last two tournaments.

Play begins on Monday with the first round beginning with a 7:20 a.m. shotgun start.
