Baylor used a balanced scoring attack, featuring five players in double figures, en route to a 99-57 Lady Bears exhibition victory over the Houston Jaguars at the Ferrell Center on Thursday.
Angela Tisdale led the way for Baylor with 29 points while Jessika Bradley was one of three Lady Bears to record a double-double as the sophomore totaled 17 points and 15 rebounds. Jhasmin Player poured in 21 points and pulled down 11 boards, while Rachel Allison scored 16 points and added 10 rebounds. Melissa Jones rounded out the double-digit scoring as she chipped-in 15 points to go along with five assists.
"Tisdale is an asset for us to have to add some outside pressure," said head coach Kim Mulkey. "Our 21 turnovers were due to first game jitters, fatigue and Houston's defense."
A Jones layup at the 17:50 mark in the first half broke a 4-4 tie and sparked an 11-0 run that put the Lady Bears ahead for good. The spurt featured six-straight points from Tisdale, who finished the half with 17 points to help the Lady Bears to a 46-27 halftime lead.
Baylor out-rebounded the Jaguars by a 52-38 margin, while forcing 31 turnovers and collecting 18 steals.
The Lady Bears went 7-of-13 from behind the arc on the evening, as Tisdale led the charge with a 6-of-10 performance of her own.
