KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - After the first round of the Edwin Watts Palmetto Intercollegiate, the Baylor women's golf team was tied for fourth place; but a stumble in the second round left the Bears tied for 13th when play was halted due to darkness at the Oak Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C., on Monday.
Sophomore Hannah Burke carded Baylor's lowest opening round (77) and was 5-over-par when play stopped in the second round.
Lene Hafsten-Morch, a freshman from Billingstad, Norway, and senior Sian Reddick each record 6-over-par, 78's, in the first round and when play stopped on Monday, Hafsten-Morch, Burke and Reddick were all 10-over-par for the tournament.
Athough Burke was tied for 11th place after the first round, she is now in a tied for 20th place with Hafsten-Morch and Reddick.
Freshman Morgan Chambers and sophomore Natalie Hocott are also competing at the event; Chambers is currently in a 71st-place tie while Hocott is tied for 91st.
Second-round action will be continued on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. and will be followed by the final round of competition. Results from the tournament can be followed live GolfStat.com.
