WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's tennis team enters the 2007 season ranked sixth nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Fila/ITA rankings. The ITA also issued individual polls including the nation's top 100 singles players and top 50 doubles teams. Four Bears appear in the singles rankings.
Junior Zuzana Zemenova tops the charts for Baylor at No. 21. Two freshmen follow Zemenova with Lenka Broosova at No. 37 and Jessica Zok at No. 38. Rounding out the Bears singles rankings is senior Zuzana Cerna at No. 91.
Baylor women's tennis opens the spring season Jan. 20 with a home double-header facing UT-Arlington at 11 a.m. and Rice at 3 p.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center. Live scoring will be available for all home matches this spring at www.baylorbears.com.
