WACO, Texas - The second-ranked Baylor men's tennis team will hit the road for two matches this weekend, taking on No. 31 Kentucky and No. 15 Florida.
The Bears will tangle with Kentucky on Friday, Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. central time and then trek down to Gainesville, Fla., for a Sunday contest versus Florida at 12 p.m. central time.
The Bears, 3-0 on the season, own a 5-0 series mark against Kentucky. The two teams have matched up once every year beginning with the 2002 season. Baylor leads the series with Florida 3-1, the Gators' lone win over the Bears came last season in Waco when a then-second-ranked Florida squad posted a 4-3 triumph.
In individual rankings, Baylor outweighs the competition with four players ranked in the top 100 in singles including No. 17 Michal Kokta, No. 53 Dominik Mueller, No. 56 Lars Poerschke and No. 66 Denes Lukacs. In doubles, Baylor is the only team with rankings this weekend with Matt Brown and David Galic tied at the No. 44 spot.
Among the competition, Kentucky's Bruno Agostinelli is ranked at the No. 89 spot, while Florida holds two top rankings with Greg Ouellette ranked at No. 16 and Nestor Briceno at the No. 60 spot.
