WACO, Texas (AP) -WACO, Texas (AP) -- Angela Tisdale helped Baylor extend its winning streak.

Tisdale scored 21 points to lead the No. 9 Lady Bears to their 11th-straight victory, a 61-54 win over Texas Tech on Wednesday night.

She made four 3-pointers and stretched Baylor's second-half lead to 48-39 with her final 3 with 9 1/2 minutes remaining.

"Angela Tisdale can nail down those shots," Baylor coach Kim Mulkey said. "We moved Jhasmin Player to the point, and Tizzy went to the two and hit some open shots."

Baylor forced Texas Tech (9-6, 0-1) into 23 turnovers, resulting in 19 points.

Despite shooting just 29 percent and making only 19 of 32 free throws, Baylor (14-1, 1-0) eased past Texas Tech in the Big 12 opener for both teams.

"I hate the game was as ugly as it was," Mulkey said. "But I thought the youth on our basketball team hung in there and fought some seniors on the other team, and we won. There's no such thing as a bad victory."

Brooke Baughman cut the Baylor lead to 59-54 with a 40-foot, 3-pointer with 32 seconds left to play, but Texas Tech didn't score again.

"I wish we had a little bit more time," Lady Raiders coach Kristy Curry said. "The biggest thing was too many missed free throws and too many turnovers. If we could just find a way to correct a couple of little things, it would have been different."

Chesley Dabbs paced the Lady Raiders with 12 points, while Alesha Robertson and Patrice Edwards scored 10 each.

Texas Tech jumped out to a 10-1 lead as Baylor missed its first 12 shots from the floor before Tisdale hit a 3-pointer with just over 13 minutes left in the first half to start an 11-0 run.

After Edwards tied the game at 12-12 with a layup, the Lady Bears put together a 12-4 run and went in front 24-16 with just under five minutes remaining.

Baylor led 30-25 at the half with Tisdale pacing the Lady Bear scoring with eight points, while Robertson led the Lady Raider offense with seven.

Prior to the game, Baylor retired the jersey number 31 that had been worn by Sheila Lambert. Lambert played for the Lady Bears two seasons from 2000 to 2002 after transferring from Grayson Community College and scored 1,315 career points.
