WACO, Texas - Two members of Baylor's men's tennis team will compete this weekend in the Sherwood Collegiate Cup at the Sherwood Country Club in Los Angeles, Calif. Making the trip for the Bears are 17th-ranked Michal Kokta and defending champion Matija Zgaga.

Last season Zgaga won five matches to earn the event's singles championship. En route to the title, Zgaga claimed victories over Stanford's Blake Muller , Chris Cloer of Florida State, UCLA's Jeremy Drean and Mathieu Deahine and fourth-ranked Matt Bruch of Stanford.

This year's tournament boasts another strong field with players from top ranked schools including USC, Stanford, UCLA and Boise State.

Matches will begin Friday and continue through the weekend with finals on Monday.

The Bears will hit the road again next weekend at the Rice Invitational in Houston, Texas, before hosting their home opener against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m.
