WACO, Texas - The Intercollegiate Tennis Assocation (ITA) released its final national tennis rankings Friday as posted on its website, www.itatennis.com. Throughout the season, Baylor's women's tennis team has fluctuated from spots as high as No. 5 and as high as No. 16. In the final rankings, the Bears close out the season sitting at No. 6 in the nation, the highest final ranking in program history.

Along with team rankings, the ITA also released individual singles and doubles rankings in which three Bears appeared in singles and two teams appeared in doubles. Sophore Zuzana Zemenova earned a final spot at No. 5, again a program-best final individual ranking. Junior Zuzana Cerna finishes the season at No. 18 and junior Klara Zrustova broke into the topp 100 as she ranks at No. 99.

The doubles teams ranked are both aquored by Cerna as she mixed and matched partners this season. Cerna and senior Daniela Covello are ranked No. 36 while Cerna and Zrustova rank right behind the previous duo at No. 37.

This season in the polls, Baylor set a number of records with the outstanding squad that claimed both regular-season and post-season conference titles. At one point this spring, in the April 4 rankings, a record-setting five individuals were ranked in singles play. Never before has a women's tennis team posted as many Bears in the rankings at once. Zemenova also became the highest ranked Bear in program history when on April 18 she sat at No. 3 in the nation.

As a team, the Bears also earned the program's highest ranking when on April 11 Baylor sat at No. 5. The Bears held on to fifth until the most recent rankings placed them at sixth June 2.
