Men's Golf to Tuneup at The Maxwell

ARDMORE, Okla. - The Baylor men's golf team will tuneup for the upcoming NCAA Regionals by competing in The Maxwell Saturday and Sunday at the 6,453-yard, par-70 Dornick Hills Country Club.

The Bears will face tough competition from the Central Region, including Colorado, Louisiana-Monroe, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma State, Sam Houston State, SMU, Tulsa and UT-Arlington.

Baylor finished 11th at The Maxwell in 2004, its first appearance in the event since 1999.

The Bears earned the fifth seed in the NCAA West Regional, which will be held May 18-20 at Tucson National Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz. The top 10 teams and three individuals from each of the three regionals advance to the 2006 Men's Golf Championships May 31-June 3 at Crosswater Golf Club at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore.
