The Baylor men's golf team will open the spring portion of its season at the 10th annual UTSA Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 20-21, at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio.

The Bears will be competing in the event for the fourth straight year and sixth time overall. Baylor won the team title in 2000, finished second in 1998 and 2004 and finished third last year. Baylor has claimed the last two individual medalist honors at the event, with senior Ryan Baca winning in 2004 and junior Jeremy Alcorn taking the title in 2005. Baca won with a 54-hole total of 209, which included a final-round 67, while Alcorn shot a career-low 65 in the first round en route to a final total of 210.

The Bears had a very successful fall, during which they claimed one team title, a runner-up and a pair of fourth-place showings. Baca led the team with a 71.50 stroke average, while Alcorn was second at 72.42. Baylor opens the spring ranked 23rd nationally and second in the South Central District according to the latest Golfweek ratings. Baca is ranked 41st in the individual national rankings.

The Bears will quickly turn around and play at the Lexus Naples Intercollegiate Invitational Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 27-28, at Hammock Bay Country Club in Naples, Fla.

Jeremy Alcorn [Junior]: Appeared in all four fall events...Tied for 25th his last time out at the Hawai'i Fall Invitational with a score of 224 (75-73-76)...Claimed his fourth career individual title to tie for the most wins in Baylor's history since 1988 at the Baylor Invitational...Shot 211 (71-72-68) and tied his season-low with a final-round 68...Tied for third at the Mason Rudolph Championship with a 213 (71-74-68)...Tied for 40th at the season-opening William H. Tucker, shooting 221 (73-75-73)...Second on the team with a 72.42 fall stroke average...Also became the first player in Baylor history to compete in the prestigious Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic, where he tied for 23rd.

Ryan Baca [Senior]: Played in all four fall events...Earned the Big 12 Conference Men's Golfer of the Month honor for November...Tied for second after losing on the fourth playoff hole his last time out at the Hawai'i Fall Invitational...Shot 214 (68-73-73)...Tied for fourth at the Baylor Invitational with a score of 214 (73-73-68)...Tied for 11th at the Mason Rudolph Championship with a score of 215 (71-70-74)...Tied for 10th at the season-opening William H. Tucker, shooting 215 (70-72-73)...With his three top-10 finishes, he upped his career total to 22 and moves to within four of the school's all-time leader, Jimmy Walker (26)...With his pair of top-5 finishes, he raised his total to 14, five within Walker (19).

Jeremy Frye [Junior]: Appeared in all four fall events...Tied for 16th his last time out at the Hawai'i Fall Invitational, shooting 221 (76-69-76)...Tied for 35th at the Baylor Invitational with a score of 225 (79-73-73)...Had his best tournament of the fall by tying for seventh and firing 214 (73-70-74) at the Mason Rudolph Championship...Tied for 47th at the season-opening William H. Tucker with a score of 222 (74-80-68)...Rebounded from his only 80 round of the season by firing a career-low 68 in the third round.

Chase Thomas [Junior]: Competed in two fall events...Tied for 48th at the Baylor Invitational with a score of 228 (79-75-74)...Tied for 59th at the Mason Rudolph Championships, shooting 234 (78-82-74).

Wes Williams [Sophomore]: Competed in all four fall events...Tied for 37th his last time out at the Hawai'i Fall Invitational, shooting 228 (79-74-75)...Had his best showing of the fall by tying for sixth and firing a career-low 69 in the final round of the Baylor Invitational...Shot 215 (73-73-69) for the tournament...Tied for 32nd in a return to his hometown of Franklin, Tenn., at the Mason Rudolph Championship...Shot 223 (75-76-72)...Tied for 47th at the season-opening William H. Tucker, shooting 222 (71-74-77).

Bill Allcorn [Redshirt Freshman]: Competed in two fall events...Tied for 23rd at the Baylor Invitational, shooting 222 (72-72-78)...Tied for 40th by firing 221 (73-77-71) at the season-opening William H. Tucker...Final-round 71 was his career low.
