COLLEGE STATION, Texas - For the second straight show, Baylor's English riders battled not only other schools but also freezing weather. The Bears earned 27 points after a nearly nine hour show to place third in College Station at the English IHSA show. Host-school Texas A&M won day one with 45 points while rival Oklahoma State placed second with 43 points.
Baylor sent ten riders to the show and Lera Thompson was the only Bear to win her group. Thompson placed first in her Section III of Advanced WTC.
On day one n the Open Fences discipline, Cara Wilson and Susie Foster both placed fourth in their groups while Nicole Brown and Amanda Esco placed fifth in theirs. Shelby White placed third in her group in Intermediate Fences while Jill Anthony placed fourth in her Novice Fences group.
In the Flat discipline, Kim Marlow placed second in her Novice group, Nicole Brown earned fourth in her Open group and Nicole McCoy placed fifth in her Novice group.
The Bears will ride again tomorrow in day two of the show. Results from that show will be available at www.baylorbears.com while full show results are posted at www.aggieathletics.com.
