Fans Invited to Send Baseball Off to Omaha

WACO, TX - The 2005 NCAA Waco Super Regional champion Baylor Bears will depart for Omaha, Neb., on Wednesday, June 15, to compete in the NCAA College World Series. Prior to their departure, fans are invited to send the Bears off at Baylor Ballpark.

The short celebration will begin at 3:30 p.m. with an introduction from President Bill Underwood. Speeches from some of the players and head coach Steve Smith will follow. The team is scheduled to depart the Turner Riverfront Athletic Complex at approximately 4:00 p.m.

The Bears will travel to Omaha to compete in the College World Series and will open play when they face Texas on Saturday, June 18, at 6:00 p.m. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN and ESPNHD. This is the first time since 1978 that the Bears have made it to Omaha.
