WACO, Texas - The 18th-ranked Baylor's women's tennis team will play a mid-spring break match when they host the Iowa Hawkeyes on Wed., March 16 at 6 p.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center. The Bears, 10-2 on the season, will put their nine-match win streak on the line when the 60th-ranked Hawkeyes, 7-3 on the season, come to Waco.
The Bears' top-ranked player Zuzana Zemenova (No. 21) will look to extend her singles win streak to nine matches. The freshman who plays in the No. 1 spot, has not lost since Jan. 30. Over that eight-match span, Zemenova has defeated four ranked opponents including 10th-rated Story Tweedi-Yates of TCU in straight sets. Two other Baylor players are riding extended win streaks as well. Sophomore Klara Zrustova has won 10 matches in a row, her last loss also came on Jan. 30. She possesses the team's best record at 16-3. Zuzana Krchnakova, a junior, sports a nine-match win streak and owns the second-best record on the squad at 15-8.
Iowa is led by 91st-ranked Hillary Mintz, a sophomore from Bensalem, Pa.
