SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Baylor's men's golf team will begin play for the spring season when they travel south to play in the UTSA Roadrunner Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 28-March 1, at the Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.
The tournament boasts a competitive 18-team field that includes Baylor, Air Force, Arkansas-Little Rock, Illinois State, Iowa State, Kansas, Louisiana-Monroe, Mexico National Team, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico State, North Texas, Northern Iowa, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, Texas-Pan American, Wichita State and host Texas-San Antonio.
The format of the Invitational consists of 54 holes beginning with two 18-hole rounds Monday and a final round Tuesday.
The Oak Hills Country Club is a 6,691-yard, par 71 course situated in San Antonio.
Senior Ryan Baca (redshirting this year) won the individual title last year helping the Bears to a second place finish in the tournament. They will be making their fifth appearance in the tournament.
In Baylor's last outing of the fall, the Bears finished 11th at the University Club Intercollegiate in Baton Rouge, La. Sophomore Jeremy Alcorn claimed the individual title capping off an impressive showing in his sophomore season.
