WACO, Texas - Baylor's equestrian program hosted the SMU Mustangs this morning in a show featuring solely the English discipline. Equitation on the Flat and Equitation over Fences were the only two events scheduled for the show, in which the Bears out-scored SMU 541-338 on the Flat and 397-329 over Fences equalling a Baylor victory, 938-667.

The English riders first competed on the Flat. Susie Foster scored the highest of all riders with 87 points though Nicole Brown posted an equally impressive 83 points. Shelby White earned 81 points while Cara Wilson posted 79 points soon after. Amanda Esco scored 77 points, and Atlee Johnston added 70 to the Baylor total of 541. Not a single SMU rider scored higher than a Baylor rider though Ashley Lewis tied with Johnston at 70.

In Equitation over Fences, Brown and White impressively scored 91 points in their jumping exercises with Foster earning 89. Mollie Smith premiered in the Fences event with 64 points and Esco was the last rider of the show and scored 62 points to bring Baylor's Fences score to 397.

The Bears earned two wins this weekend with victories over South Dakota State and SMU. The equestrian program's next show will be Dec. 3-4 as the English team travels to Stillwater, Okla. for the OSU hosted English IHSA show.
