WACO, Texas - Baylor's equestrian team will hold its first public home show Saturday, Oct. 15 at Willow Spring Farm, the program's temporary facility. All riders will be competing in the show which will showcase both English and Western disciplines.

Baylor sent riders to Georgia's Big Eight tournament last weekend where five Bears built confidence and experience competing against some of the sport's top-rated programs. Specifically in Western, Brenna Burris placed second in Reining and third in Horsemanship in Athens.

This weekend's scrimmage will consist of two teams, Green and White. The scrimmage is designed to be treated like a true in-season event including full event management setup and judging. The English events will include Equitation over Fences and Equitation on the Flat while the Western events include Reining and Horsemanship.

Riding will begin with Equitation over Fences at 9 a.m. followed by Reining by 10 a.m. Events are scheduled to take place throughout the morning, and all riders should be finished by 1 p.m.

The team's next official competition will be Nov. 5-6 in Stillwater, Okla., where they compete in the OSU Western IHSA Show.

Results from this weekend's scrimmage will be posted at www.baylorbears.com at the end of the day's events.
