Waco, Texas - Rebounding from a loss on Saturday, the Bears won the doubles point and lost only one singles match to defeat No. 29 ranked Pepperdine 6-1, Sunday afternoon at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, Calif.
In doubles play the Bears redeemed themselves from Saturday and won all three matches to claim the point. In singles competition Baylor posted victories at courts No. 2 through No. 6 to win the match. Baylor's only loss came when No. 38 Pedro Rico upset No. 8 Benjamin Becker at the No. 1 position.
The victory brings the Bears to 9-2 on the season and a current ITA ranking of No. 3 in the nation. The men's tennis squad will be back in action at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at No. 5 Virginia Commonwealth.
