Recap | Final Stats | Notes
Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson
"As ugly and sloppy as we were out there, we won by 27 points against a good team. We were able to play everybody, and it was a good win. I told these girls: with greatness comes expectations. That makes things harder. But when you step back and look at this game as a coach, it was a good win.
"Anytime you get satisfied, you get lazy. And we're not going to get lazy. What we've done in the non-conference season means nothing if we don't take care of business in conference play.
"We have a lot of players who bring a lot of different things to the floor. We do the best we can to be hard-nosed, aggressive and physical on the defensive end."
On rebounding advantage:
"We work on rebounding constantly. I'm not sure I expected a 17 (rebound differential), but I do expect us to not get out-rebounded. And when we do, that's a challenge to our post players."
Baylor forward Sophia Young
"We knew Florida would come out strong. We wanted to be as physical as possible and not give them a chance to get an edge."
Baylor post Steffanie Blackmon
On getting offensive output from guards:
"It is really good to get that, especially right now. We need that help from the guards as we go into Big 12 play."
Baylor guard LaToya Wyatt
"My strength is defense, getting into the passing lanes and such. I just have to keep working in practice."
Florida head coach Carolyn Peck
"Baylor is ranked sixth nationally for a reason. They are a very good team, especially with Steffanie Blackmon, Sophia Young, (Emily) Niemann -- you can just go down the list.
"We played hard today. I was very pleased with our effort. The shots just weren't falling. This team should by no means drop their heads. We're learning some tough lessons right now."
