WACO, Texas (AP) - Sophia Young scored 15 points and Steffanie Blackmon added 14 to lead No. 6 Baylor to an 89-62 victory over Florida on Sunday.
Baylor (9-1) opened the second half with nine straight points to take a 54-33 lead over the Gators (6-3) with just under 16 minutes left. Florida never got closer than 16 points thereafter.
Emily Niemann scored 13 points, Abiola Wabara 12 and LaToya Wyatt 11 for Baylor.
Brittany Davis led Florida with 16 points, while Tamia Williams added 14.
Behind 3-pointers by Wyatt and Niemann, Baylor jumped out to a 9-1 lead. The Lady Bears upped the margin to 21-6 with just under 12 minutes remaining.
Paced by seven points from Davis, Florida chipped away and narrowed the gap to 27-23 at the 6:30 mark. But Baylor regrouped, and Young's five straight points fueled an 8-0 run for a 35-23 lead.
Baylor led 45-33 at the half with Young and Niemann scoring 10 points apiece.
