ANN ARBOR, Mich. - After two days of tournament play, Baylor men's tennis' Lars Poerschke advanced in singles play, while the Matija Zgaga/Poerschke doubles duo suffered defeat in their quarterfinals match at the ITA National Indoor on Friday.
After Thursday's loss to Matic Omerzel of Georgia, Poerschke rebounded in the first-round match of the consolation bracket by defeating Michael Rubin of Michigan 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 on his home court.
Doubles play didn't fair well for the Bears in their quarterfinals match. The pair lost to Jason Beren and Martin Wetzel of Harvard 8-6. The loss is the first of the like for the Baylor duo this fall. They won seven straight before suffering defeat.
Action continues Saturday with doubles action in the morning in men's and women's main draw semifinals and consolation semifinals at 10 a.m. Saturday's singles schedule includes main draw semifinals and consolation quarterfinals and semifinals.
