WACO,Texas - Men's tennis will travel to the ITA National Indoor Championships this weekend at the Varsity Tennis Center on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor.

Baylor freshman Lars Poerschke automatically earned a bid for the indoor tournament by winning the ITA Central Regional Oct. 22-25 in Austin. He went 6-0 at the regional and was crowned champion after defeating Bojan Szumanski of Texas Tech 7-6, 6-4.

In doubles play, Matija Zgaga teamed up with Poerschke to win the doubles championship and a spot at the national tournament. The Baylor duo performed flawlessly during regional play; highlighted by an 8-3 victory over No. 8 ranked pair of Frabrizio Sestini and Rafael Abreu of TCU.

Tournament play begins Thursday at 9:00 a.m. with the first round of men's and women's doubles action followed by singles play. A complete schedule is available at www.itatennis.com.

Semifinal matches begin Saturday with the finals concluding on Sunday. The semifinal and final matches will be broadcast live on the internet at www.RadioTennis.com.
