Baylor Men's Tennis Faces No. 63 Texas Tech

The Bears now enter their fifth Big 12 conference match as they travel up to Lubbock, Texas to face the No. 63 Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The Texas Tech men's tennis team ended a long week with a 6-1 win over New Mexico State last Sunday. The team has played six matches over the last 10 days and is off to their best start in school history at 13-1. Baylor is also coming off some big wins as they swept two conference rivals, then-ranked No. 72 Oklahoma and then-ranked No. 70 Oklahoma State, 7-0.

The last time these two foes met was on Baylor's home turf at the Big 12 Tournament. The then-ranked No. 12 Bears defeated the then-ranked No. 61 Red Raiders, 4-1. Texas Tech's only win was at the No. 5 spot. The Red Raiders leads the series with 21 wins over the Bears out of the last 35 meetings. The only ranked netter for Texas Tech is junior Alfonso Perez who is slotted in the 118 spot.

Baylor will travel up to Lubbock, Texas Sat. March 22 to try and improve their record to 5-0 in Big 12 play. Matches are set to begin at 1 p.m. and results will be posted on the baylorbears.com website.
