No. 3 Baylor Men's Tennis Advance to Semifinals

WACO, Texas - No. 3 Baylor men's tennis team advances to its first USTA/ITA semifinals after beating No. 7 Stanford, 4-0 today in Louisville, KY. Baylor last beat Stanford in 1999 during the NCAA's round of 16. The Bears will face the Illinois/Texas A&M winner at 4 p.m. tomorrow Feb. 22.

The doubles teams were two for two against Stanford. In the No. 2 spot, Benedikt Dorsch and Reiner Neurohr defeated Ryan Haviland and Sam Warburg, 8-3. The duo of Matias Marin and Ivor Lovrak sealed the deal after downing JC Corkery and James Pade, 8-4.

In singles, the Bears once again swept their opponent on all courts. No. 97 Lovrak was the first to earn a singles point after upsetting, No.52 Warburg, 6-3, 6-0. No. 1 Dorsch followed what Lovrak had started by defeating No. 15 David Martin in two sets, 7-5, 6-1 and Neurohr gave Baylor the victory after winning his match against Stanford's Pade, 6-4, 6-1.

Baylor's Dorsch, Neurohr and Lovrak are all 2-0 in singles this week. Baylor was leading at Nos. 1 and 4 when the match ended and No. 3 was entering third set.
