Junior Ryan Baca completed the final round of C.C of Louisiana Invitational firing a three-under 69 to finish in a tie for second. Baca completed the tournament at five-under-par and lead Baylor to an eighth place finish among the competitive 15-team field.
Baca (69-73-69=211) followed Monday's rounds of three-under and one-over par with a third round 69 to finish just three strokes behind individual medallist Michael Young of N. Florida.
Baylor (289-287-296=872) captured their third consecutive top-10 finish of the fall season finishing eight-over-par for the tournament. Host LSU captured the team title by firing a seven-under 857 to finish one shot ahead of Arkansas (858). N. Florida (862) finished third, while SMU (866) and UAB (870) rounded out the top-five.
Three Bears finished in the top-30. Senior Jon Antunes (73-72-73=218) shot a closing round 73 to finish tied for 22nd. Freshman Jeremy Alcorn (71-71-78=220) shot two-under through the first two rounds and finished tied for 29th.
This was Baylor's third consecutive regular season tournament finish in the top-10 under first-year head coach Greg Priest.
The 69th-ranked Bears completed their fall season and will next compete Jan. 31-Feb.1 in Gainesville, Fla. at the Gator Invitational hosted by Florida.
