Freshman Jeremy Frye finished tied for 15th amongst all individuals and led Baylor to it's third top-10 finish of the season at the Stonebridge Invitational in McKinney, Texas.
Frye (74-73-74=221) followed Monday's rounds of two-over and one-over-par with a third-round 74 to record his second top-15 finish of the fall season.
Baylor (300-300-300=900) remained consistent throughout the tournament, finishing 18 shots off the lead of Notre Dame (286-290-306=882), who captured the team title. Lamar (287-300-296=883) finished only one shot off the lead, while North Texas (298-292-295=885) and Wichita State (286-296-303=885) tied for third. Host SMU (294-288-306=888) and Vanderbilt (290-293-305=888) finished the tournament tied for fifth.
Junior Ryan Baca (70-72-82=224) was able to record his third top-25 finish of the season, shooting eight-over-par to finish the tournament. Senior Jon Antunes (80-75-74=229) shot a closing-round 74 to finish tied for 43rd. Freshman Jeremy Alcorn (78-80-76=234) finished in a tie for 63rd, while sophomore Will McDonald (78-81-76=235) completed the tournament in a tie for 65th.
Chris Stroud (68-72-65=205) of Lamar held off Colt Knost (66-69-71=206) from SMU to claim the individual title at 11-under-par. This was his second consecutive tournament win, after claiming the Baylor Invitational title two weeks ago.
This was the third straight top-10 finish for Baylor and new Head Coach Greg Priest.
The 64th-ranked Bears will next compete on Oct. 27 and 28 when they travel to Baton Rouge, La., to play in the Country Club of Louisiana Invitational hosted by LSU.
