LAREDO, Texas - Baylor's men's golf team will play in its final tournament before the Big 12 Championship on Friday and Saturday, April 5-6, at the 51st Annual Border Olympics.
The tournament boasts a competitive 17-team field that includes Baylor, New Mexico, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Rice, Sam Houston State, Central Florida, Louisiana Lafayette, Lamar, Pepperdine, Texas-Arlington, Texas-San Antonio, Texas-Pan American, San Diego State, Colorado State, Central Oklahoma and host Texas A&M.
Baylor, New Mexico, Lamar, and Pepperdine are all top-30 ranked teams, according to Golfstat.com.
The format of the Invitational consists of 54 holes beginning with two 18-hole rounds Friday and a final round Saturday.
The Laredo Country Club is a 7,125-yard, par 71 course situated in Laredo.
Prior to New Mexico's victory last year at the tournament, Baylor had won what is the nation's second oldest college tournament three years running.
Last season Baylor finished third in the 15-team field.
The defending Big 12 champion Bears have placed in the top five in each of their last nine tournaments.
In Baylor's last outing, the team finished fifth at the Chenal Trojan Cup in Little Rock, Ark. The team was led by sophomore Jon Antunes who finished tied for fifth overall.
