Women's Tennis loses at Kansas 5-2

WACO, Texas - The No. 36 Baylor women's tennis team suffered its second Big 12 loss of the season after dropping a 5-2 decision to No. 42 Kansas in Lawrence on Saturday. Baylor moves to 12-5 overall and 4-3 in league play while Kansas is now 10-3 on the season and 5-0 in Big 12 action.

Baylor won just one doubles match when Vida Mulec and Paola Stephen won a hard-fought contest , 9-7, at the No. 2 position.

In singles action the Bears posted only two wins. Mulec won in a tie-breaker at No. 1 singles and freshman Daria Potapova dropped her first set (6-2) but came storming back to take the match by winning the next two sets 6-0, 6-2.

The Bears resume action in Columbia, Missouri on Mon., April 1 (2 p.m.) when they face the University of Missouri.
