DURHAM, N.C. - Twelfth-ranked Baylor swept the doubles play and then captured four singles matches en route to posting a 5-2 win over 16th-ranked Duke in collegiate men's tennis action on Saturday afternoon at the Ambler Tennis Stadium in Durham, N.C.
The Bears improve to 17-1 on the year while the Blue Devils fall to 8-9.
Baylor picked up the doubles point by sweeping all three matches. Markus Hornung and Nathan McGregor extended their doubles winning streak to eight matches with their victory over No. 17 Yani and King.
Duke's Yorke Allen then posted a straight set win at number five singles to even the match at 1-1. Baylor took a 3-1 advantage as Markus Hornung defeated Jason Zimmerman in straight sets at number three and seventh-ranked Benjamin Becker earned a three-set win over 14th-ranked Phillip King at the top slot.
After Peter Shults pulled Duke within 3-2 with a victory over Nathan McGregor at number six, Baylor clinched the match on Zoltan Papp's straight set win over Michael Yani at number two.
Duke hosts Miami (Fla.) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. while Baylor returns home to meet Texas A&M Corpus Christi on April 8.
