DALLAS - Baylor freshman sensation Benjamin Becker of Orscholz, Germany, has been chosen as Big Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Mar. 11-17, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Becker was unbeaten in three singles matches for coach Matt Knoll's Bears last week. He downed No. 37 nationally Toni Gordon of TCU 6-4, 6-3 and Lamar's Edgar Gonzales at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-1. He completed his three-match sweep by defeating Wichita State's top player Mark Sewell 6-2, 6-2.

The BU yearling teamed with Zoltan Papp to stop TCU's doubles team of Daniel Scholten-Alex Menichini 8-3 and then paired with Armando Carracosa to stifle Wichita State's Contente-Austin doubles duo 8-4.
