Women's Tennis Moves Up, Men Drop in Rankings

WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's tennis team moved up another spot this week, to No. 18 in the latest Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings, while the men's team dropped two spots to No. 10.

The women, currently 9-3 on the season, had moved up two spots last week and rose another one to No. 18 this week. They won two matches in Hawaii during spring break, beating Hawaii-Hilo and Hawaii. However, they dropped a dual match (7-0) on Monday to No. 35 South Alabama.

Going into spring break last week the men's team was undefeated. On their road trip to California, they defeated Fresno State but lost to then-No. 9 Pepperdine, 5-2. The Bears are now No. 10 while Pepperdine moved up to No. 6. The BEars are now 9-1 on the season

The men's team will host three matches this week. They take on No. 32 TCU in a key regional matchup on Thurs., March 14 at 6 p.m. Two matches are on tap for Saturday, March 16. They will play Lamar at 9 a.m. and Wichita State at 6 p.m.

The women open Big 12 play on Friday, March 15 when they host Oklahoma State at 1:30 p.m. They will close out a busy week with a match against Colorado on Saturday at noon.

Fri., March 15
1:30 p.m. - Women's tennis vs. Oklahoma State

Sat., March 16
9 a.m. - Men's tennis vs. Lamar
Noon - Women's tennis vs. Colorado
6 p.m. - Men's tennis vs. Wichita State
